COVID-19

Dear Colleagues

By now all of you will have become aware how significantly the COVID-19 outbreak is affecting our usual activities.

With the current restrictions on travel and communal gatherings, convening a conventional medical educational conference has become impossible.  We considered whether the alternative of a Virtual Meeting would be achievable, but felt the educational hands-on workshops that run on either side of the scientific component of our meeting would not work in a virtual format.  We also have to consider our obligation to our Industry Partners to provide an opportunity for face-to-face liaison with our membership.

For these reasons, we have chosen to defer our meeting from June to late October, 2020. The venue will remain Rydges Southbank in Brisbane.  Of course, it is difficult to predict how long the current travel and gathering restrictions will need to remain in place and we will continue to review final plans as the situation evolves.  We will come back to you again next week in relation our revised Meeting dates for October this year.

Our Meeting Secretariat will be making contact this week, with those delegates and sponsors whom are in a registered and/or paid status with refund options.

The ANZHPBA wishes everyone to remain safe and well in the months ahead.

Sincerely,

Tom Wilson (Chairman ANZHPBA)
Tom O’Rourke (Convenor 2020 Scientific Meeting)
